Accommodations

Rooms
The standard room (including closet) measures 12 feet by 15 feet. A typical double room is furnished with a bunk bed, chest of drawers, two desks, two study chairs, shelves, towel bars, waste basket, and carpeted floor. Linens will be provided. Electrical Appliances
Electrical clocks, radios, stereos, televisions, blankets, razors, personal computers, and small refrigerators may be used in rooms. The only cooking appliances permitted are coffee makers and microwaves, with self-contained heating units. University-owned refrigerators (4.0 cubic feet) are available for rent. The cost is ~$35 for the summer.

MTU Cable
Every student room is wired for Michigan Tech''s in-house cable TV system. The system offers a basic package of 50 channels including the MTU Movie Channel, where residents choose the movies each month. Also offered are discount rates on HBO and Showtime premium channels for $9.95 each.

Telephone Service
Students must provide their own telephone. Local service, voice mail, call waiting, and call forwarding are part of your housing package.

Computer Networking
Network connections in student rooms are available and considered a privilege for residents in housing. Information Technology Telecommunications Support (TelCom) offers a high-speed network connection that includes internet access. Other things to remember. . .

It's a good idea to include good walking shoes and/or hiking boots, roller blades, and any other outdoor equipment you might want. There is an abundance of things to do outdoors up here in the summer, so come prepared!
